The Rockwell's in the Spring

Some of my favorite people!
I'm so glad we were able to do our last two sessions together before these awesome people leave Virginia.  Chase was born this past March and we did his newborn session here!  And then a couple of months later, we did this Spring session! I'm going to miss this family terribly, but luckily, they're only moving to our neighboring state which I frequent often, so they can't get rid of me that easily! I'm hoping to feature them on my blog again!

The Michaels Family | Downtown Alexandria

I was inching my way to having 500 Likers on Facebook which is a big milestone for me as I started with none! I've been building my business since 2007 and I'm very happy with my growth process these last few years! So, to celebrate my growth, I decided to have a 1 hour session Give Away and here are my winners!

The Michaels! Friends of friends! Bonnie entered my contest and was my lucky winner! I'm SO happy she won because I wanted this session, whomever won, to be something I could learn from! And shooting in Old Town Alexandria was awesome and a learning experience! She had lots to offer for the session, showed me around Old Town and introduced me to a world to photograph! I'm no stranger to Old Town Alexandria.  It was my husband's and my date spot back in the day, but I never had viewed it through the eyes as a photographer when we used to go there years ago.

Now, if you are interested in a session in Old Town Alexandria, I'm your girl! Check out these awesome shots from our session! We had so much fun! It never gets old meeting new people for a session and leaving as friends! This family is so wonderful and I had such a great time with them getting to know them and chatting like we've been friends for years! Our next session, Bonnie has already decided that she's getting a couch and we're taking over a street and putting it in the road!

For now, here's our family session where we got to explore Old Town Alexandria!

Totally in love with this yellow wall!

I was so excited about doing the chalk shots!! Love these!

The Tippey Family

I've had the privileged of getting to know this family for the past (almost) 4 years (like 3 and a half) and the joy to call them my friends! And they FINALLY called me to take their photos! I've been waiting and waiting! So we decided to do an hour session (which I HIGHLY recommend for larger families.  You get the chance for multiple portraits as you will see below)  We had fun in downtown Fredericksburg and totally took advantage of all the sights to behold.  I adore this location and always highly anticipate the out come of the portraits from this spot!

Now enough of session info, onto this family.

If there is someway to be involved with this family, you can count me as part of that.  Praise team at church, teaching guitar, babysitting, house sitting...we've done it all together! Loura homeschools all the girls and does a fantastic job! I definitely look up to her and hope and plan to do the same with my children and do as great a job as her! Rich has done so much with the praise team at church.  He's our sound guy and owner of the acoustic electric Taylor that I get to play every week.  He always comes in with new ideas and is really helping get us to that place where we want to be with worship at Fredericksburg Wesleyan!  Kara and Rachel are always doing something creative and musical.  Emma adores my daughter and makes her laugh every week.  Lyla is a mini me when it comes to emotion (Rich and Loura, it evens out when they get into their twenties...I think...ask Duane) but she's a hoot and is always entertaining to watch! And Ava is the baby of the family who I have known since she was born.  She cried when she first met me, but I attribute that to not realizing my awesomeness at that point of fresh life.  We're cool now.  She also loves Lucy.

This family has almost taken me in as a stray in Virginia.  Not knowing really anyone when we moved here, they welcomed me and my husband as part of their church and as quick friends.  They bring me 3-4 trash bags of clothes from them to use for Lucy from time to time and I try to return the favor with clothes I grow out of for Kara and Rachel.  This family is genuine.  That's the best word to describe them.  Full of love for each other and those around them.  I'm blessed to be called their friend.

 All of the lovely ladies

I ended up having to bring Lucy to this session and she did really well.  They're laughing here because I was wearing lucy on my back and she was peeking around me to check out what was going on!

Ava get's two blubs of her because I couldn't decide!

 Such beautiful girls!!

I feel like these photos capture the true essence of the Tippey family!
